Ryleigh is simply amazing

It's time for a Ryleigh bear update. Oh the many ways this little girl can communicate with us!!

Words. Here are the many words she knows and uses: hi, bye, mama, dada, baby, car, cat, shoe, that, wow, ut-oh, down, nose. Sometimes, she'll even string some together - usually "hi cat" or "wow cat."

Sign language. She regularly signs "more" and occasionally uses the signs for "all done" and "milk"

Gestures. Points up when she wants to be picked up and down when she wants to go down. She can now show us exactly what she wants, which is so very helpful with easing frustrations! She also can identify the following body parts: nose, mouth, head and sometimes toes.

And here are a few things that have happened over the past few days:
1. Ryleigh was playing after dinner, grabbed 2 diapers and handed them to Reggie and I and then pooped. Potty training time?!

2. During our bedtime routine, she now picks out the books she wants us to read to her. Her favorite is Daddy Loves His Little Girl which she gives to Reggie to read. I usually get Brown Bear, Brown Bear or Little Gorilla.

3. She plays peek-a-boo a LOT! Usually it's either after dinner with her bib or with her hands. It gets cuter and cuter every time!!

4. Her favorite song is "Itsy Bitsy Spider." She watches with delight as I sing it and do the motions, and she puts up her own itsy bitsy spider!

5. She was playing with some diapers up in her room. I asked her to please put the diapers back into the diaper bag. AND SHE DID!

6. We now refer to "the baby" as Kaelyn. Last night as we were playing, I asked Ryleigh "where's Kaelyn?" She stopped playing, walked to me, pulled my shirt up over my belly and pointed to it. Then she kissed my belly, smiled and lay in my lap. Reggie witnessed the entire thing and we were both amazed!

What a truly incredible little girl we have on our hands!! She will be a GREAT big sister.
